I remember as a little kid getting so excited about Halloween. Deciding what to dress up in and putting on my costume and there I was all hidden inside of some other creature or character. I could be anything or anyone I wanted to be for one night.
Of course there was the anticipation of how much candy I would get and how much of it would be my very favorite to eat!
As I've grown the excitement of it has worn down and I wonder what this holiday is really suppose to be all about.
As a Christian what are we suppose to be celebrating?
I decided that it should NOT be about Satan or the dead but it can be a time for children to just pretend.
A night for kids to pretend to be whatever they want to be. Dress up as their favorite character and pretend that no one knows who they really are.
I don't think it is safe anymore for kids to go door to door to the homes of strangers asking for handouts. There are just too many crazed and confused people out there now. But there are many carnivals and local known neighborhoods of friends that can serve the same purpose. Or have your own family party.
So with all that said.............Happy Halloween! Have a safe and fun night of complete freedom to be whatever and whoever you want to be!

I'm Starting-------AGAIN

Today I had a talk with myself............

Getting to the gym regularly is like walking through cement................

But with all the excuses we make every day usually the only thing stopping us from doing things for ourself is ourselves........................
Jim can go to the gym almost whenever he wants to and he does............

So I told myself today I need to take better care of myself by eating healthier foods.............

Heart disease runs in the family and I need to take better care of mine..............

I need to use my Wii and exercise at home whenever I can and as often as I can............that's why I bought it!

It's all about lifestyle choices..................

I need to build up my strength to keep up with my busy schedule and have a lifetime of fun with my grand kids.................

And if I keep it up and stick with it.......................who knows how much better I'll feel about myself !!!!!.......................

Cars.........................

Sometimes I wish we could just go back to the horse and buggy days. All you needed then was a hammer, nails, a barn and some hay!

Yesterday I was dropping the boys off at home and Kyle gets out of the car and says "something stinks like it's burning". Turns out---- it was my car!

So Lance opens the hood and checks it out and sure enough there is a hose thingy with a big hole in it on one side and a cap on some other thing that is broken!

So today we did the driving of my car and Jim's truck to the car repair shop and then switched Conner's car seat over to Jim's truck and left the car for the day. Those car seats are just way too much fun to install. Did you ever try push down on your knees while twisting to one side inside of a two foot space?,
and we get to do it all over again when my car is done!

And the most thrilling part of all is the excitement and anticipation of how much this is all going to cost and how it certainly wasn't planning into our end of the year budget!

But these days seems we just don't have much choice when it comes to the use of cars! oh well!

Painting Leaves

While taking the dog on a walk we picked up a few leaves. They make wonderful art projects. I love to just lay it all out on the table, give a couple of directions and then let their little minds flow.................................
