Spa Day

I had the most wonderful day with my daughter today!!

She had a gift certificate that her hubby had given her for her birthday and I had won $$ from the birthday casino dinner my hubby took me to.
Eddie could stay home with all the kids and the Charger football game on was on so he invited Jim to watch it with him while he was home with the kids. So it was the perfect day to spend our day at the spa!

We both had a European pedicure and manicure ------ahhhhh, the whirlpool warm water soak, the mask, the lotion with a massage up to the knees and up to the elbows while sitting in a massage chair............ahhhh. Completed with the french nails on both feet and hands!
Time for a yummy salad for lunch then the next appointment was for our European facials! One full hour of cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and massaging on the face, neck & shoulders while lying on a comfy table listening to soft music and the smells of sweet comforting candles..................were we floating on clouds??

Totally relaxed and feeling wonderful we left the spa just in time to walk to the theater and buy our tickets to see the new movie "Fame". What a fun movie! Of course we had our bag of popcorn.

After the movie we treated ourselves to some Cold Stone ice cream (( shhh !! )) .

We had about an hour of time so we did something we never get to do together without kids............we shopped for clothes on the clearance racks at Macy's!!
We tried on clothes and showed each other as we tried them on and laughed so hard we had tears rolling down our freshly moisturized faces!!
We did find a couple of good bargain summer tops :)

So now we are home and back to reality and it is all just a dream until next time!
We are telling our hubby's that this is what they can give us for every occasion that requires a gift in the future. They never have to wonder what to give us now!

The 80's

Finally a day in the 80 degrees. The high 80's but at least we didn't have to have the a/c on today and were able to leave the windows open with the fans on. Actually right now is the hottest part of the day when the sun is blazing on the front room windows but know that in an hour that will be gone and the air will send a nice breeze through the windows again.
Sorry to say that it is suppose to heat up again by the end of this week.

It's been a very relaxing day. We took the dog to the beach first thing in the morning and walked around there for an hour and then came home. I baked some Cranberry Crumb Coffee Cake and we had that with some coffee.

The rest of the day has been taking catnaps and reading books!

Beautful day for a walk

It's such a beautiful day out today. Jim and I decided to drive to Seaport Village and take the dog for a walk. That's the USS Midway behind Jim.....

That's a statue of Jim and I posing for the camera ............:)

The Coronado bridge.............and a group on their canoes.......

Pepper had a great time and so did we!

It's about a 20 minute drive from our house. A lot of shops and places to eat along the shore and many boats. It was a sunny, breezy , beautiful morning and we got there before the crowds of people and left two hours later when the crowds started to arrive!

Lazy, Hazy day of Summer

This has been a very lazy day. It is about 93* outside. We have stayed inside with the a/c on. Summer headaches are not fun. Caused by allergies the doctor says.

Jim and I have had a hard time staying awake today. We both have the summer allergy headache. So why fight it? We have been taking catnaps on & off all day long.

Grandmas & preschool

Today I took Conner to his first preschool class of this school year. It's a class full of 3yr-4yr old boys and girls. About 15 -20 of them. He absolutely loves it. So many things to do and discover. So many friends to make and play with. Outdoor climbing and bike riding. Snack time. Parachute time. Music time. Craft time. It's all very wonderful.

I'll be taking him every Tuesday morning from 9am - noon. What I find interesting is that out of the many adults there are several of us that are grandmas! Good to know I'm not the only one!

Soon as we got in the car after the class he drank some milk and immediately slipped into a blissful nap time!! :)
